Getty Images Sport was a daily lesson during homeschooling Going to the park became part of going to school. Those COVID kilos melted away quickly and we all felt great at the end of each day. It meant we all got some fresh air in our lungs and became fitter than ever. With the children and dog in tow, we were walking an average of at least 6km a day. Something I never had time to do when I was working in the office. Getty Images I was fitter than everĪfter the initial COVID kilos took over my body and I was finally able to manage the constant snacking while at home, being locked down meant that I was able to squeeze a long bush walk into my day. What wasn’t to love about that? Working from home allowed for more exercise time after work. It was literally bed to desk or couch in seconds. It also meant some extra sleep-in time because you didn’t have to get ready to go anywhere. You literally got up, logged on, and away you went. Many families were devastated by the virus, small businesses suffered, and loved ones were separated for far too long after COVID-19 landed on our shores in 2020. Before I get trolled, let me just start off by saying that by NO MEANS do I wish another lockdown or deadly COVID wave upon anyone.
